Rifle River Canoe Trip
June 2004

Rifle River

This spring, Matthew made the transition from Cub Scout to Boy Scout. This means more camping, and in June Matt and I found ourselves camping (again) on the Rifle River. Because we've had a wet spring, the river was a bit high. On some rivers this is a bad thing, but on a lazy river like the Rifle, it was just about perfect. The weather was good, the food was tasty, and everyone had fun.

Because our campground was on right on the river, most of the Scouts spent their time fishing. Unfortunately, the fish didn't seem too interested, and only one fish found it's way to a hook.
